This is my first Father's Day without my Dad. Here he is last summer with my mom, my two sisters and I (I'm on the far left....and my mother has the pink sweater on....I have to tell you which one my mother is because she often gets mistaken for our sister....it's kind of annoying...not for her....:
After almost 30 years of heart problems, his heart just got too weak and he passed away last October. I think we are all managing but today kind of brings it all back. In looking through my pictures I came across this one of my mom hooking Dad with an umbrella at my sister's wedding:
I had to laugh....a lot.
For the rest of today I'm going to enjoy being with my husband....and my father-in-law but you can be sure I'm thinking of another Dad as well.....
Sorry to hear that you are without your Dad. It is a great reminder that life is precious and to appreciate the people around us. I hope you have a good day with your family and that your memories warm your heart and bring a smile to your face.
