Can you keep a secret?

Does your family know you have a blog?  Mine didn't....until this week.  It's not that I was hiding it...I just wasn't ready for everyone to read  it.  In fact there is only one person that I have met....in person...that reads my blog (Hi Amanda!).  I haven't shared it on Facebook, or sent anyone the web address.  My husband and sons know that I have a blog (because I am constantly taking pictures of everything we do) but they don't know where to find it on the net.

My sisters, aunts, friends, mother, mother-in-law...they don't have a clue about my blog.  Should I keep it this way?  I'm not sure.  I love being able to write whatever I want....and not censor it.  I worry that if I knew everyone close to me was following my blog it would change what I write.

What are your thoughts on my dilemma?

  2. When I first started blogging, it was to keep friends and family updated on my family and what was going on with us. In hindsight, I kind of regret it! There are SO MANY things that I could be blogging about if they didn't read it! LOL

  3. I do not usually OMG, but OMG! For me though no one in my house knows about my blog, I am totally underground and I like it that way. It is hard though when I want to share something in my blog or share a funny comment. I really struggle with how much I want people to know. In the past day, I have decided that it is just too soon for me to let my sister in. She knows me and loves me so I think that will be ok with her. BUT my new rule is not to tell anyone about my blog unless I am prepared to send them the link for it. For me I want the freedom to create without worry or without putting my family and friends on the spot "wondering what they think". Good luck!

  4. Very interesting...

At first I was very shy about sharing that I had a blog with people in my life. Now, given our current circumstances, it has been a lifeline. I can understand how you feel though and I still feel strange when someone that I know in person mentions that they read it. Like I almost forget that it is out there!
