The first flowers of Spring

The past two weeks have been gloomy and cold but there is hope as finally some flowers are starting to bloom.

Mayflowers....so hard to spot in the woods as they grow along the ground partially covered by their leaves...their scent is heavenly...like apple blossoms only better.

And these, Dog-tooth violets...not one of my favorites but they must be one of Scott's favorites as he always brings me a bouquet of them home after he has been hiking (and how can you not love that?)
