Yarn Along January 18, 2012

Today I am joining Ginny at Small Things for Yarn Along where you take a picture of what you are reading and knitting...then share.

This is the first little hexagon I've knit following the Beekeeper's Quilt Pattern by Tiny Owl Knits which I purchased on Ravelry.  You knit between 300 - 500 little hexagons then  sew them together to make a quilt like the one shown below (which I did not make....yet).  I think I might be a little old lady before I finish this but it is a nice way to use up remnants of sock yarn.

I just started "The Virgin Cure" by Ami McKay but I'm sure I will love it because her  last book, The Birth House  is one of my all-time favourites.

  1. Oh my! I love that quilt so much! I too would be a little old lady before finishing, but I just may have to check it out!

  2. The quilt is beautiful! I wish I knew how to knit...I've always wanted to learn.

    1. Too bad you didn't live closer, you could come and see the snow (are you a fan?) and I could teach you how to knit...and we could drink tons of coffee...and chat about teenagers {sigh}

    2. I wish! And I am a fan of snow...in moderation. It's such a novelty for us!

  3. Good luck with knitting the puffs - I haven't got into making them myself, but I love seeing the infinite variety when other people post pictures of theirs!

  5. I have been seeing that blanket all over the place and it is lovely!
    Sadly, at my age, there are not enough years left for me to even think about tackling it. :)

  6. I love this blanket and now want to cast on too.
    Can I ask you how long it takes to do a puff? If
    it isn't too long I'm thinking it would make a fun
    year long project!

    1. I think it took me around 30 minutes...but I'm sure it would get faster the more you knit.
