Yarn Along - August 10, 2011

I am linking today with Ginny of Small Things for Yarn Along (where you share what you are reading...and knitting).
The mittens I am working on "Deep in the Forest Mittens" from a pattern I bought on Ravelry, are seriously messing with my mind.  The pattern is well written and clear...but I can't seem to make myself count  every stitch while I knit...and to keep looking at the chart is really not fun for me.  I am considering abandoning them...but that is even harder than abandoning a book midway through ( which I am also loathe to do).

"Trauma Farm" (despite its name) is very enjoyable...it brings back memories of all the farm animals I have had throughout my life (which is another post in itself).

  1. I sure can relate about not being able to keep track of counting with patterns, but those mittens do look beautiful.
I read Trauma Farm and enjoyed it very much.
    Warm wishes,

  2. I know what you mean about abandoning things. The list of books I never finished is less than double figures (though there are plenty where I wonder why I bothered finishing!) I have a couple of WIPs that I hate working on but rather than abandoning them, I have hibernated them. Ok, so it's the same thing, but it makes me feel a little better about it ;)

  3. trauma farm. Sounds a little like when we tried it. We learned alot about life and death. The mittens look great but I too hate a project that keeps me staring at the pattern and ripping.....

  4. I could do chart knitting before kids- now not so much. Maybe someday again!
